Abstract

The Byzantine Empire, steeped in religious fervor and imperial authority, shaped music with distinct spiritual dimensions. While its musical forms and development paths remained relatively homogeneous, the Byzantine legacy profoundly influenced Western music particularly church music and holds a pivotal position in the history of Western musical evolution.
