Abstract

The escalating integration of digital health technologies (DHTs) into healthcare necessitates a strategic approach to nursing management to optimize patient safety and enhance healthcare efficiency. This research addresses the critical need for a comprehensive framework to guide nursing leaders in effectively embedding DHTs, including electronic health records, telehealth, remote patient monitoring, and artificial intelligence, into clinical practice. The study identifies key components and principles for a successful integration framework, analyzes the impact of various DHTs on patient safety indicators and efficiency metrics, and delineates effective implementation and adoption strategies. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the research synthesizes existing literature with an analysis of current practices and expert interviews to develop actionable recommendations. Findings highlight the importance of user-centered design, robust nurse training, seamless interoperability, and proactive change management in maximizing DHT benefits while mitigating risks such as data breaches and increased cognitive load. The developed framework provides nursing managers with a structured roadmap for systematically assessing, selecting, implementing, and evaluating DHTs, thereby fostering a culture of continuous improvement and digital innovation. This work contributes to bridging the gap between technological advancements and practical nursing management, offering essential insights for healthcare organizations aiming to leverage digital transformation for improved patient outcomes and operational effectiveness.
