Abstract

Treaties, as an important law, the quality of its translation directly impacts the rights and interests of various countries in international affairs and the stability of international relations. Linguistic precision and diplomatic sensitivity are two crucial elements in the translation of international treaties. This article delves into the pivotal role of linguistic precision in the translation international treaties, encompassing precise requirements in terms of vocabulary, grammar, sentence structures, and other aspects. Meanwhile, it analyzes how diplomatic sensitivity is manifested in the translation process, such as the impacts of factors like political stances, cultural differences, and international relations on translation. Through the analysis of practical cases, this study elaborates on how to balance diplomatic sensitivity while ensuring linguistic precision in translation, and puts forward corresponding translation strategies and suggestions, aiming to provide valuable references for improving the quality of international treaty translation.
