The Differences Between Translational Communication and Translation

Abstract

This paper aims to explore the differences between translational communication and translation, and then expound theoretical basis and practical meaning of translational communication as a new research paradigm. Based on the definitions of communication, translation and translational communication, the paper makes a comparation from subject, purpose, theory and method, content and research focus of translational communication and translation, which reveals that translational communication not only expands the scope of translation, but also puts emphasis on comprehensive research of interdisciplinary study and communicational effect of translation. With the growing globalization, translational communication offers new theoretical support and practical method for translation practice and cross-cultural communication.
