Abstract

Against the backdrop of the current English curriculum's integration of instrumentality and humanity, this paper explores the application of scaffolding instruction to senior high school English reading instruction. It first outlines the core concept and theoretical foundations of scaffolding instruction, then elaborates on the concrete implementation procedures, and analyzes its pedagogical advantages in real classroom practice. Finally, supported by specific teaching cases, the paper focuses on the practical use of question scaffolds and graphic organizers in senior high school English reading instruction.
