Abstract

The Byzantine Empire holds a pivotal position in world history, bridging the classical Greek and Roman civilizations with the Renaissance in modern Europe, exerting profound influence on human civilization. As a specialized branch of Byzantine studies, Byzantine music has served as a crucial link in European cultural development. While Chinese scholars have made notable progress in recent years, their research on Byzantine music still pales in comparison to the substantial achievements in this field abroad.
