This paper takes A oil drilling equipment manufacturing enterprise as the research object, for its raw material inventory classification is sloppy, management efficiency is low and other problems, constructs a multi-dimensional classification index system containing procurement amount, consumption quantity, order lead time, supply delivery rate, adopts the PSO-FCM algorithm to classify 72 raw materials into conventional, strategic and risky, and puts forward the differentiated management strategy, the conventional type reduces the cost, strategic type to keep supply, and risky type to control risk, which provides a scientific basis for enterprises to improve the efficiency of inventory management
