The coordinated development of the natural gas production, supply, storage, and marketing system is formed under the conditions of the continuous develop-ment of the gas industry, the gradual maturation of the natural gas market, and the gradual formation of the natural gas industry chain. As a clean and envi-ronmentally friendly high-quality energy, natural has important strategic sig-nificance for ensuring the security of energy supply and optimizing the energy structure. This paper provides a review of the literature on the research of the natural gas production, supply, and marketing links, summarizes the research types of existing literature, and most of the previous research covers various links of the entire natural gas industry chain. However, most of the research from the local optimization of the natural gas industry chain, such as: pipeline energy consumption optimization, pipeline layout, gas storage investment and benefit evaluation, LNG cost optimization, natural market price mechanism re-search, etc. In the future, low-carbonization and technological innovation, LNG market expansion, geopolitics and energy security, synergy with renewable en-ergy and policy and investment challenges are key points for research and de-velopment of natural gas.
