Urban-rural integrated development enables common prosperity: coupling mechanisms

This paper focuses on the synergistic relationship between urban-rural inte-grated development and common prosperity. Based on the provincial panel data from 2013-2020, we constructed an evaluation system for urban-rural integrat-ed development that includes economic, social, ecological, and elemental inte-gration, and an indicator system for common prosperity that covers the dimen-sions of income, culture, and security, etc., and used the entropy weight-TOPSIS model to measure the composite indexes of the two systems, which, together with the coupling coordination model, reveals the temporal and spatial coupling characteristics of urban-rural integration and common prosperity. The study reveals the spatial and temporal coupling characteristics of urban-rural integra-tion and common prosperity.
