This paper takes the Chinese film industry as the research object, combining industry macro data and typical cases, to analyze its current development status, the path of driving economic growth, as well as its direct and indirect contributions to GDP, tax revenue, and related industries; the research finds that the Chinese film industry has formed a complete industrial chain, with core indicators leading globally by 2025, and the proportion of domestic films reaching nearly 80%. The industry drives the economy through cultural technological innovation, market cultivation, and industrial chain collaboration. The growth rate of the derivative market is significant. In 2024, the industry paid nearly 19 billion yuan in taxes and stimulated related industries such as tourism, catering, and advertising, as well as employment. At the same time, it points out the existing problems and research limitations of the industry, clarifying that the film industry is an important engine for stimulating domestic demand and optimizing the economic structure, with both cultural dissemination and economic driving functions, providing references for policy and academic research. Currently, the industry has problems such as content homogeneity, regional imbalance, high dependence on technology, and difficulties for small and medium-sized films to survive. It is necessary to release potential through policy guidance and innovation incentives.
