Abstract

Vocabulary is a cornerstone of English learning. Over the decades, researchers and educators have developed numerous strategies and theoretical frameworks to enhance vocabulary learning. This paper divided into five sections, it first introduces the significance of vocabulary knowledge in language learning and its multifaceted nature. Next, it addresses theoretical foundations, drawing on seminal and newer studies. The third section explores practical strategies, including explicit teaching, incidental learning, and technology-supported tools. The fourth section focuses on assessment and feedback, outlining diverse methods for measuring and reinforcing vocabulary growth. Finally, the paper concludes by underscoring the necessity of a balanced, context-sensitive approach that integrates multiple methods to meet learners’ evolving needs.
