Abstract

This article aims to explore the existing problems in the current teaching of continuation writing in high school English from the examination requirements of reading continuation writing in the new college entrance examination, and propose corresponding teaching strategies in response to the problems, to help students master the skills of continuation writing more deeply, thereby comprehensively promoting the improvement of students' comprehensive English literacy. It points out three core issues: monotonous teaching methods, a single evaluation subject and the lack of students' thinking ability. The solutions include adopting situational teaching methods, conducting diverse evaluations, and cultivating students' continuation thinking ability.
